2023 Albariño

We farm Albariño at Jespersen Ranch. The vineyard is located in the northwestern corner of the Edna Valley AVA just four miles from the ocean. Our three acres of vines thrive in the coastal environment and derive their character from the rolling banks of coastal fog in the morning and ocean breezes in the afternoon.

The 2023 vintage is a vibrant expression of this coastal wine. Notes of tangerine, clementine and lemon meringue are underscored by hints of lemongrass and honeydew with a clean mouthfeel and crisp finish.

We hand-harvested our Albariño blocks early in the morning on October 17th and whole cluster pressed the grapes into a combination of concrete and stainless steel tanks for fermentation. We aged the wine for 5 months in the same combination of concrete and stainless steel before we blended and bottled the wine.
